Our second Working Tests for 2026 were held at Bedale Grange, Wykeham by kind permission of Mr James Stephenson on behalf of the Dawnay Estates.
The judges were Paul Hasney (B Panel), Eden Parish, Brian Dodsworth and Phil Dyson.
The weather was kind - bright but cool. The woodland, glades and stream at Wykeham all looked glorious and the judges set up some challenging retrieves for all 59 entries in the various categories.

Mr James Stephenson from the estate joined us in the afternoon and we welcomed him as he looked round the tests. We are most grateful to him and the Dawnay Estates for allowing us to run our tests on this wonderful ground.
A huge thank you to our judges who gave us their precious time to judge throughout the long day and kept the competitors flowing through the Tests. Without the helpers both on the day, and in the run up to the day, the competitions could not go ahead.
We are most grateful to the volunteers who helped run the individual Tests, some coming early to help in the morning and others staying into the afternoon. Thank you so much!
Also, the Committee members who helped behind to scenes in preparation for the day, during the competition, and clearing up afterwards, my heartfelt thanks to you all.
And so to our next Working Test at Fimber on Sunday 5 July for Novice and Open dogs. Entries are open now via FTMS or by postal entries. Further details are on our website.
